Mold Inspection & Testing:

This service can help determine if harmful mold is present in a home. Exposure to bacteria and mold/fungus in indoor air has emerged as a significant health problem in residential environments as well as in occupational settings. Mold and mildew are names given to thousands of species of fungi. Some molds can be poisonous and toxic to humans. Spores pose a larger health concern because they become airborne and can be inhaled. They can also create health problems ranging from allergic reactions to respiratory tract inflammation and infection, depending on the exposure and tolerance of the individual. View our mold inspection & testing page for more information.

Radon Testing:

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is a bi-product of the radioactive decay of uranium and radium, and studies of humans exposed to both high and low levels of radon have shown an increase in lung cancer. Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, so the only way to know the level of radon in your home is to test for it. Central Florida Building Inspector's radon inspection service includes the placement of testing devices to measure the ongoing level of radon in the habitable areas of the home. These measurements evaluate the level of radon to determine if any form of improvement is required. Per the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), you should take steps to resolve the issue if the radon level is 4pCi/l or higher. These EPA documents provides basic information everyone should know about radon. For more information on how to reduce your radon health risk, call your state radon office for copies of the guides listed below:
